The Magic seem to be happy with what they've seen from Paolo.
According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, the Magic want other players to get opportunities now that Banchero won't be participating in Summer League.
Reynolds said that the Magic are going to give the two players a break for the rest of Summer League in order to see other players.
In his Summer League debut last Thursday, Banchero had 17 points, four boards and six assists as the Magic defeated the Houston Rockets. Smith had a quiet night with 10 points, seven rebound and three assists.
The Magic defeated the Kings in double overtime on Saturday. The 19-year-old finished with 23 points, six rebound, six assists, four steals and two blocks and had the game-winning assist in the win.
The Magic selected Banchero with the top pick in the draft because of his offensive maturity. It was surprising that he went ahead of Smith and Holmgren, even though he had a good skill set.
The Magic have a chance to climb out of the league's basement if Banchero can duplicate his Summer League production. In the last 10 seasons, the team has only finished above.500 once.
