According to NASA, the photo shows thousands of galaxies from around 5000 years ago.

The James Webb Space Telescope was launched in December and is currently 1 million miles away from Earth. The largest and most sophisticated satellite telescope ever made by NASA was built in partnership with the European Space Agency and Canadian Space Agency and is expected to offer an unparalleled view of the early universe.
