On September 1st, the game will still be available on Steam, despite a notice on the store that said the game would become unplayable later this year. The company told Eurogamer that current owners of those games will be able to access, play and download them.
An announcement made earlier this month caused confusion about Liberation HD's playability. In order to free up resources for its newer and more popular titles, the company said it would stop supporting online services in 15 games. Online features and downloadable content would be unavailable in most of the affected titles. The only game that would be completely useless was Spade Junkies, which was a single-player experience.

When a user named Nors3 shared a picture on Monday of Liberation HD's Steam page, many thought that the publisher was going to take things to the next level. The game will not be accessible after September 1st, 2022. Many people accused the company of dropping to a new low.
In an interview with Eurogamer, the company said it was working with Valve and other platform owners to provide more accurate information on the future of the games. It has always been our intention to do everything in our power to allow those legacy titles to remain available in the best possible conditions for players, and this is what we are working towards.
