  • Senate Democrats are being asked to say if Justices Neil Gorsuch andBrett Kavanaugh lied.

  • They wrote a letter to the Senate leader.

  • The Supreme Court overturned abortion rights.

Senate Democratic leadership should take a stance on whether Supreme Court justices lied to them about their views on abortion during their confirmation process.

The New York Democrat sent a letter to the Senate's majority leader on Friday demanding that he address the matter.

The senators were asked to make their position clear on whether the justices lied under oath.

Following their votes last month to overturn the landmark ruling that established the right to abortion almost 50 years ago, conservatives have come under scrutiny.

In their confirmation hearings, the justices said that a precedent had been "reaffirmed" but they didn't say they wouldn't overturn it. It had been "reaffirmed many times" that the U.S. Supreme Court's precedent was worthy of being treated like any other precedent. The Supreme Court's precedent of abortion has been upheld many times.

The two senators who voted to confirm the two justices felt misled by them.

Collins, an abortion-rights supporter, said that the decision was inconsistent with what the justices said in their testimony and their meetings with her.

The stability of the ruling has provided for two generations of Americans and I am alarmed that they chose to reject it.

In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision, the justices were accused of lying about their views on the abortion issue. Since the Supreme Court's conservative majority tossed out federal abortion rights, the progressive Democrat has been critical of the court.

It is an impeachable offense to lie under oath during confirmation hearings, and it should be seriously considered by lawmakers, including Collins and Manchin.

She told NBC News that it was necessary to allow it to happen. It's dangerous because it signals to all future nominees that they can lie in order to get Supreme Court confirmations and seats on the Supreme Court.
