The athlete said in videos posted to social media that a man threw a metal object at her face, breaking multiple bones and leaving one of her eyes swollen shut.
A man ran up with something in his hand as Kim Glass left a lunch. He threw something at her face while he was on the other side of the car.
She said that he looked at her with sad eyes. He flung it from the street and I was not even close to him.
Bystanders restrained the man until police arrived.
Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles police said that Tesmariam was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon. He is not allowed to leave the jail. It was not known if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf or when he would be in court.
Glass posted videos of her injuries on her website. She thanked the doctor for the stitches on her eyebrow.
