The Atlanta Braves acquired the 35th pick in the Major League Baseball draft from the Kansas City Royals for three players.
The slot value of the draft choice is more than $2 million and it is a competitive balance pick. The Braves' bonus pool will more than double to more than $10.2 million, moving them from 19th to ninth in terms of available money.
Over the past two seasons, Waters has been at Triple-A, but he was once a top 100 prospect. Waters is a switch-hitter whose glove is good enough to keep him in center field for a long time. Waters was added to the Kansas City's 40-man roster.

Atlanta chose Hoffmann in the 12th round of the 2021 draft and he dominated at High-A this season. In 80 appearances, the 22-year-old has a 2.36 earned run and 90 strikeouts. Hoffmann is moving up to Double-A Northwest Arkansas to play with Alexander.
Alexander has 15 home runs in 281 plate appearances at Double-A and is a big left-handed pitcher. He plays first base and is hitting.258/.294/.465 with a.465 batting average.
