According to Mark Gurman, the starting price for Apple's rumored high-end Apple Watch could be the same as the current iPhone 13 Pro.
The likely rival of 'Apple Watch Pro' is the SAMSUNG WATCH PRO 5.
Gurman compares the rumored premium watch to the current Apple Watch Edition, which starts at $849.
Given that the new high-end Apple Watch will pack in a slightly larger display, new sensors and higher-end materials, I wouldn’t be surprised if it starts closer to $900 to $999, the starting price of an iPhone 13 Pro. We're only a couple months away from finding out exactly where Apple lands.
Gurman thinks that the Apple Watch will be its biggest rival, and that the already-leakedSamsung Watch Pro 5 will be the one. The "pro" version of the device will have a larger display and battery, as well as a titanium case and a more rugged design. The most expensive version is expected to be half the price of the rumored Apple watch.
Aimed at athletes, hikers, and others who experience more extreme conditions during exercise, the new tier of Apple Watch will feature a larger screen and metal case. Gurman suggests a few possible names for the new device, including Apple Watch Extreme, Apple Watch Max, and Apple Watch Explorer Edition, but he believes that the model will adopt the 'Pro' moniker in line with its other higher priced products.
The current Apple Watch Series 7 and the planned Apple Watch Series 8 have a 1.9-inch diagonal screen. It is expected to have a larger battery and a screen that is shatter resistant.
The sport-focused version of the Apple Watch will be sold alongside the standard Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch SE, which is expected to see a refresh in 2022.
