  • Gmail on the web has picked up new visual improvements to its compose interface.
  • The new update was supposed to come out late last year, but it was pushed back due to performance improvements that needed further work.
  • In the recipient field, you can now see a recipient's profile avatar and a right-click menu.
  • The rollout is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

The visual updates and improvements to Gmail's recipient field were announced in October. The company has resumed the roll out of the update.

Many of the best laptops and Chromebooks are starting to see the new changes to Gmail's compose window. The updates were delayed so that they could be improved.

G Suite Basic and Business users will be the last ones to see the roll out by the end of the month. The update's headline change may be a new right-click menu that allows you to view a recipient's full name and email address.

The right-click menu can be used to control how the display name appears. If you're on the Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, Education Plus, or Teaching and Learning upgrade tier, you won't see this option.

A chip with a profile photo will be given to each person. You could only see the recipient's name and email address.

If you have ever sent or received an email from an out-of-organization contact, they will be highlighted in a deep yellow color.

Different domain names within the same organization will no longer be marked as external recipients. It helps different brands under the same parent company.

The email client will mark a contact with a checkmark if they have been selected. When dragging and dropping between the To, Cc, and Bcc fields, a duplicate entry will be automatically removed.

Some chrome extensions may be affected by these changes.
