After a decade as the face of the Washington Wizards, John Wall is ready for a new stage of his career.
Wall said Saturday that he doesn't have to do it every night for the Clippers to win. I don't want to have to be the Batman every night in order to win. Anyone can be Batman on our team.
Wall signed a two-year, $13.2 million contract with the Clippers in the off-season after agreeing to a buyout with the Houston Astros. He wasn't on the roster for the entire season as the team prioritized younger players.
There are questions about how much Wall has left. Over the past five seasons, he has played in only 114 games and sat out two of them. The last time Wall was on an NBA floor, he was shooting a career-low 40.4 percent from the floor and posting a career-worst 6.9 assists per game.
Wall said he was most comfortable with the Clippers because he wouldn't be expected to perform like he did last year.

"The other teams are great, and I'm glad teams wanted to come after me, but I kind of looked at the picture of where I don't have to be the John Wall from 2016 and have to carry the load and do all those." It's a great situation for me to be there because L.A. didn't have a point guard.
Reggie Jackson is expected to be Wall's competition for the starting point guard job. With Wall in the fold and Leonard coming back from a knee injury, the Clippers should return to the title picture.
