In 2016 the Parrishes launched their company, which builds unique travel destinations along the Blue Ridge Mountains. They told Insider that they've built seven properties so far and that they initially didn't know what to do with the lands.

One night, we were watching a show called "Treehouse Masters" and one of the characters said, "Why don't we try anAirbnb treehouse because it's Asheville and it's such a cool little town?"." Mike said to Insider.

The two of them started talking about it in 2015. The thought at that time was just traditional treehouses.

The couple appeared on the second season of "The Treehouse Guys" and built a sanctuary. They added an underground house with a hidden slide in February.

"Alchemy" was officially opened to guests on February 22, 2022.

When they stumbled upon a photo of an underground Bunker, they were inspired to build "Alchemical" They decided on a camping tent because they wanted to create an unexpected entrance.

"We thought, how cool would it be to have a tent sitting there and people pull up and wonder what's going on here?" he said. They came into the tent and found the slide.

They wanted theAirbnb to look like a tent.

The time it takes to build a fully equipped treehouse depends on the project. The cost to build "Al Chemy" was $300,000.

The property can be rented for a nightly rate of $386.

They used the mountain's sloping terrain to their advantage.

The slopes on their land appeared to be an obstacle at first.

Mike said that the landplanner didn't think that the property was good for anything because of its sloping terrain. It's perfect for making people feel like they're in an underground world.

Their first property, "Sanctuary," is built like a traditional treehouse, while others are built on stilts. Both builds are underground.

It was similar to a building a basement for "Alchemy".

Supply delays related to the Pandemic were one of the challenges.

The aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic was one of the challenges Mike and his wife faced. When a contract worker contracted COVID-19, the project was shut down for a couple of weeks. Due to supply shortages, they had issues getting materials.

They said that creating the property's roof needed extra attention to make sure it was placed correctly. The concrete was poured into the framework after they enforced it with steel beams.

He said it was critical. A wooden beam can do different things, but a steel beam can't. The steel beam needs to be cut and put in place.

If you pull back the flaps, you'll find a slide that leads to the underground home.

The tent on top of the home's roof is where guests can slide into the one-bedroom house that has a queen-sized bed and a fold out futon.

The ceiling and walls of the home were covered with fabrics from a South Carolina warehouse in order to extend the tent theme.

"We definitely didn't want to use Sheetrock walls because the inside should look like a tent," she stated. Yards and yards of fabric were purchased to put on the walls.

We put flags around the top to make it more playful.

The space was used so guests could have modern conveniences.

The couple told Insider that all of their properties have heat, electricity, airconditioning, and full plumbing.

There is a coffee machine in the kitchen, according to the listing. The guests can sit at either table or counter.

There is a bathroom in the home.

The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be seen from "Al Chemy".

The underground home was made to feel like a tent by hanging fabric on the walls and covering the rugs on the ground.

She cut the rugs and put them in the room.

If guests don't want to use the slide to get into the underground space, they can use the tent next to the sitting area.

One TikTok video about the accommodation has had millions of views.
