The US Department of Labor said that an Indianapolis security company paid $440,000 after failing to give their staff overtime.

The company failed to pay overtime wages to 215 workers.

The company failed to pay overtime for time worked over 40 hours per week, failed to account for overtime worked on different jobs in the same week, and failed to maintain accurate payroll records.

In addition to the damages to the workers, it was also ordered to pay the DOL for violating federal laws.

There is a settlement for each employee.

Protection Plus was fined $25,000 and had to pay almost $100,000 in overtime and damages to 158 workers for similar overtime violations, after it was found to have violated the law.

In the last four years, the business has paid more than half a million dollars in damages for failing to pay overtime.

The company didn't change their pay practices after the investigation and didn't pay their employees the wages they were due.

These failures hurt workers and their families by denying them the wages they count on. Their ability to retain and recruit workers may be damaged by these practices.

Protection Plus didn't reply to the request for comment.
