In the seven months since she announced her candidacy, the Georgia Democrat has raised over 50 million dollars.
During the two months ended June 30 of this year, the direct campaign and One Georgia committee raised over 20 million dollars and had over 18 million dollars in cash on hand.
Kemp raised more than $6 million for his direct campaign and associated committee. Kemp had $6.4 million in cash at the end of the month.
One Georgia, a vehicle that allows her to collect unlimited contributions and coordinate spending with her campaign, raised $6.3 million before May.
Legal disputes caused the leadership committee to not report numbers at an earlier time. Before the May 24 primary, she was the only one running for the Democratic nomination. She could not use the leadership committee vehicle until she was officially certified as the Democratic nominee, even though state party officials argued she was already the party standard-bearer.
Jaylen Black said Friday that the campaign is free to spend all of the money raised before she became the official nominee.
Kemp andAbrams are spending a lot of money. The general election campaign is just beginning and has already cost more than 30 million dollars. More than $17 million has been spent by Kemp as he dismantled Perdue and others in the Republican primary.
The governor's race and the U.S. Senate race are likely to be the most expensive races in Georgia's history.
Kemp raised more money than he did in his win overAbrams. Abrams has raised more than 50 million dollars in less than a year. In the past, Georgia Democrats scratched for resources while Republicans enjoyed strong fundraising thanks in part to business donations.
Lauren Groh Wargo said more than 240,000 people have given $100 or less. She argued that the advantages Kemp gets from being a sitting governor include being able to command news coverage and give out federal COVID-19 relief money.
Wargo wrote in a memo that the campaign needs to raise more money and spend more money in order to create a level playing field.
She said that the money would be used to engage with the most diverse electorate in the state's history.
Kemp will run on his record while acknowledging thatAbrams and her liberal allies can outraise and outspend us.
Mitchell said that far- left radicals from across the country were funding the campaign to bring the failed agenda of D.C. to Georgia.
The grace period for Georgia candidates ends Friday. As of Friday afternoon, neither Kemp norAbrams had filed their reports. Independent Al Bartell said he raised $50 during the period.
Perdue andAbrams sued over Georgia's leadership committee rules, saying it was unfair that Kemp could take large amounts while they were barred.
The judge ruled that the Georgians First Leadership Committee could not give money to Kemp until after the election.
