Tua Tagovailoa is going to have a make-or-break year in the 2022.

Hill gave his take on Tua and why he needs to take the next step this season on his show.

If you're a first-round draft pick, the National Football League only gives you two or three years to be a successful quarterback. If you don't succeed after those years, then it's a big deal. Tua will be put into that. He just wants to show people what he has.

While he has shown flashes, Tagovailoa hasn't led the Dolphins to the playoffs or solidified himself as a franchise quarterback.

After an excellent collegiate career at Alabama, Tagovailoa was taken by the Miami Dolphins with the 5th overall pick in the 2020 draft.

Tua split time as the starter as a freshman with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, completing 64.1% of his passes for 1,814 yards, 11 touchdown and five interception. The Dolphins were defeated in a Week 17 win-and-in playoff scenario by a Buffalo Bills team that had already secured the division title.

In the 13 games he played in, Tagovailoa completed 67.8% of his attempts for 2,663 yards, 16 touchdown and 10 picks.

Miami decided to stick with Tua for 2022, even though they were rumored to be checking in on quarterback Deshaun.

In order to give Tagovailoa the best chance to succeed, the Dolphins brought in running backs, wide receiver, and offensive tackle, as well as wide receiver and offensive tackle.

After six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins have a skill-position group that includes Hill, Waddle, Gesicki, and Gaskin, as well as wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Most would consider Tagovailoa a major downgrade since Hill played with one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Patrick Mahomes.

He has been complimentary of Tagovailoa.

It's up to Tua to prove it, and if he can't, his days in Miami may be over.
