Cuban doesn't begrudge the New York Knicks guard for leaving the Mavericks to join them.

According to the New York Daily News, Cuban said that he wasn't upset with Brunson. I wish he was better. You can bust your butt or not. He's deserving of it.

Last week, he signed a four-year, $104 million contract with the Knicks.

Cuban said he didn't get a chance to match the Knicks' offer, but he understood why he moved to New York. We couldn't make an offer. It was the decision of the man. I am aware of it. He was familiar with those guys his whole life. He spent his formative years there. It's perfect.

Cuban said that his father played for the Knicks from 1999 to 2001 and that he was born in New Jersey.

Leon Rose is the Knicks' team president and his former agent is the assistant coach of the Knicks.

It was always going to be difficult to keep him away from New York, but the Knicks may have helped themselves by working outside the NBA's free-agent guidelines.

Multiple people within the NBA believe that the Knicks will be punished for tampering because it was reported two days before the free agent negotiating period began.

The Knicks made a number of moves to clear out their salaries before signing a player.

The Mavs were "frustrated" by the idea that they had agreed to a deal with the Knicks.

The Mavericks were not happy about the Knicks executive sitting courtside for a Mavs vs Utah Jazz playoff game.

Cuban denied that he gave a s--t. I don't know why I'd care. It isn't like, "OK, we don't go to the playoffs, that changes what we think and what we are doing." I don't pay much attention.

The Mavs are down their second-most important player from last year's team behind Luka Doncic, regardless of whether or notWesley attended a playoff game.

When Doncic was out with an injury, Brunson stepped up and led the Mavs to victory.

Dallas has been active this off-season, trading for forward Christian Wood and signing center JaVale McGee, but it will be hard to replace what Brunson did.
