The lawyers for Mr. Musk wrote a letter on June 6 demanding more information from the company. The lawyers said that it gave Mr. Musk the right to walk away from the agreement. The next day, the company agreed to give Mr. Musk direct access to the fire hose.

Since it went public, it has estimated that around 5% of its accounts are fake. According to the company, it removes about one million bot accounts each day and locks up millions more each week until they pass anti-spam tests.

The company allows automated bot accounts that perform services. Many of these accounts are encouraged to label themselves as bot. Many of the accounts perform a useful service, according to the company.

GoodSpam is an automated account that helps people find useful, entertaining and relevant information. When people ask for a stock quote and if there is an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 or higher in the world, they can get automated responses from the robot named "earthquakebot".

Governments, corporations, and bad actors use other spam bots for a variety of reasons. Russia tried to sow division among U.S. voters during the 2016 election.

People are often tricked into sending digital currency to online wallets for prizes that don't exist, and that's why there are a lot of fake bot on the internet. Sometimes a hostile environment is created for celebrities and politicians by using the internet's most popular bot.
