According to The Washington Post, former President Trump is considering waiving his claims of executive privilege to allow his former top adviser, Steve Bannon, to testify.

Citing three sources familiar with the matter, the paper reported that Trump may send a letter stating the former president is willing to give up his claim if Bannon agrees to testify.

The House charged him with contempt after he refused to appear.

In November, the Justice Department charged Bannon with refusing to testify and refusing to turn over related documents for the panel to review.

His trial is set to begin later this month, but he requested a delay because he wanted a fair trial.

Some of Trump's advisers are against him sending the letter.

Current and former staff members are not allowed to testify.

A person for Trump and an attorney for the man did not return calls from The Hill.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide, gave testimony about Trump's temperament and knowledge about what was happening at the Capitol.

According to Hutchinson, Trump lunged at the wheel of his SUV and was told by the Secret Service that he couldn't go to the Capitol that day.

The people involved in the situation have not testified.

On Tuesday, the committee will hold its next hearing.
