According to an analysis of data provided to Insider from Gallup's annual survey on abortion, men over the age of 50 are the only demographic who oppose abortion access.

In June of this year, the Supreme Court overturned the decision to allow abortion.

Men were almost evenly split down the line when it came to supporting abortion. Forty-eight percent of men said they identify as pro-choice, while 45% said they identify as pro-life.

Men over the age of 50 are the only group with a steady increase in "pro-life" identification and a decline in "pro-choice" identification over the past two decades.

There is only one age demographic that has a higher percentage of people who identify as pro-life than pro-choice.

Older men are less supportive of legal abortion.

While the percentage of young men, young women, and older women in support of abortion has steadily grown over time, the percentage of men over 50 who support such abortion rights is stagnant.

Overall support for abortion is significant and steady. In the three years from 2020 to 2022, 80% of men and 80% of women are in favor of abortion in at least some condition.

The largest margin of difference between being pro-choice and pro-life was found in women under the age of 49.

Younger women's support for pro-choice views is ten percentage points higher than it was two years ago.

Over the last three years, the majority of women over the age of 50 have become pro-choice.

While the margin of difference between the two camps in this demographic group is not as stark as its younger counterpart, people who self-describe as "pro-life" began to decline beginning in 2020.

Younger men from the ages of 18 to 49 have been consistent in their beliefs regarding abortion.

A close 45% of men in this demographic identify as "pro-life" despite a larger share of men saying they are pro-choice. It's the smallest margin reported by any of the demographic groups.
