The green jersey is back for the Mexican teams.

After experimenting with various shades and colors, El Tri have gone back to their traditional roots with the release of an eye-catching green top

The "Feathered Serpent" is a design that evokes the god's plumage and the feathered headdress.

"For this season's home jersey which will be worn on football's biggest stage, we wanted to capture the spirit of the nation with a design that is deeply roots in the culture of Mexico," said James Webb, Senior Product Designers at adidas. The head and feathered headdress of an Aztec deity is displayed with pride on a shirt with a completely new crest.

In December of last year, Mexico's new crest was revealed in the home of the country's most famous museum. The changes to the crest were influenced by pre-Hispanic culture.

The classic combination of white shorts and red socks has been brought back. Mexico will be able to choose between the signature green-white-red mix or green-white-green for the home kit.

The jerseys will be worn. Fans will not have to wait a long time.

The green kit will be used by the women's national team in their upcoming game against the United States. El Tri Femenil will need to find a way to defeat the defending World Cup champion if they want to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

If they succeed, it could be a sign of better things to come for the men in November.
