The purse for each LIV Golf regular season event is $25 million, which is more than every tournament on the PGA Tour.

The purse will be increased across eight tournaments by the PGA Tour.

Nine of the sport's top 40 ranked players have joined LIV Golf.

Over the last 10 years, the purse for golf's four major tournaments has increased, though each major still pays out far less than an ordinary golf event.

According to Sports Business Journal, CBS averaged over two million viewers for the final round of the Canadian Open last month, making it the most watched final round in the tournament's 22 year history.

After launching last fall with Greg Norman as its chief executive, LIV Golf began to make waves in February when he defended his ties to the Saudi-backed league with inflammatory comments about the murder of a journalist. After playing his first tournament in June at the first-ever tournament at the Centurion Golf Club near London, Phil left the public eye. The suspension of golf players from the tour was announced last month. The first U.S. tournament of the LIV Golf series was held June 30.

DeChambeau said he hopes people will see the good that they are doing and what they are trying to accomplish instead of looking at the bad.

Surprising Fact

This week, the leader of the PGA Tour and the leader of the European Tour called for a meeting with LIV Golf executives to make up. If these people are serious about investing billions of dollars into golf, I think that's a good thing.
