Ron Johnson pulled a radio ad that blamed President Joe Biden's immigration policies for a mass murder in San Antonio, Texas.
There was a shooting at an Independence Day parade in Illinois that left seven people dead.
The senator said in the ad that the mass murder in America didn't involve guns.
The ad said that 53 people, including five children, were murdered by human traffickers because of Joe Biden's open border policy.
The ad referred to the deaths of 53 people in the back of a truck. The driver of the truck is thought to have been under the influence of meth.
Johnson said that human, sex, and drug traffickers are out of control because of Democrat governance.
The ad was supposed to be aired on July 6 but was pulled on July 5. On July 4, there was a shooting.
An email was sent from the vice president of sales to Ron Johnson.
The email said that the spot talks about mass shootings which is not good creative.
Johnson is a Republican who is seeking a third term and is opposed to gun laws.
You have criminals and people who shoot at them. Well, okay? I don't understand why the left would want to blame the gun. In the wake of a Milwaukee shooting that left 21 people injured, Johnson said he wanted to put the criminal in jail.
Johnson's office didn't reply immediately.
