the thing, gundam, superman, akira, predator

If you don't live in San Francisco or Los Angeles, io9 is bringing the shows to you right now.

Dave Perillo and Tom Whalen collaborated on the project. Each artist creates four-inch by four-inch prints, usually in sets of two, of characters that go together. At 7 p.m., it opens. Gallery 1988 is located at 7308 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. The first seven slides in this slideshow are all brand new and exclusive pieces from the show.

The new show is called "Sugoi!" and it is a tribute to Japanese animation. We are talking about Dragon Ball Z, Studio Ghibli, Mobile Suit Gundam, and many more. It opens on July 9 and runs through July 30. There is a collection of pieces from that show after the ones from "4x4."
