Ville Husso was acquired by the Red Wings from the Blues.

The Blues received the 73rd overall pick in the NHL draft in exchange for Husso.

According to multiple reports, Husso has agreed to a three-year contract with Detroit.

In his second NHL season, Husso had a great campaign. He had a 257-6 record with a.919 save percentage and 2.56 goals- against average. He played 40 games in the regular season, but lost the starting job to Binnington in the playoffs. In the games in which he replaced the injured Binnington, Husso recorded an.890 save percentage.

Husso was going to become an unrestricted free agent before he signed with Detroit. He was expected to get contract offers that were more lucrative than what the Blues could offer him.

Alex Nedeljkovic was acquired by the Red Wings from the Carolina Hurricanes. Veteran goalie Thomas Greiss is an unrestricted free agent.

Binnington has a no-trade clause and a $6 million cap through the end of the century. Charlie Lindgren was the only other goalie to play at least five games for the Blues.
