Breaking news

Jack Wilshere has decided to retire from football at the ripe old age of 30.

After making his debut at the age of 16, Wilshere went on to make over 200 appearances for the club.

He spent time at West ham, Bournemouth, and AGF Aarhus.

Wilshere said his career has been slipping away in recent times.

He said that it has been an "unbelievable journey filled with so many incredible moments and I feelprivileged to have experienced all that I did during my career."

"From being the little boy kicking a ball around in the garden to captaining my belovedArsenal and playing for my country at a World Cup." I have fulfilled my dreams.

Before joining AGF, Wilshere had only played 36 games.

During the 2020-21 season, he was without a club due to injuries.

He said that it has been difficult to accept that his career has been slipping away due to reasons outside of his control.

I have always wanted to play at the highest level, but I didn't think I'd be here at times.

"However, having had time to reflect and talk with those closest to me I know that now is the right time and despite the difficult moments I look back on my career with great pride at what I have accomplished."

There's more to come.
