Kevin Durant requested to be traded last week, and the Brooklyn Nets are trying to get a good deal for him. Brooklyn's asking price is shown in a report.
Chris Haynes was told by Yahoo'sVincent Goodwill that the Nets offered the Minnesota Timberwolves' star players and a bunch of draft picks in exchange for KD.
Goodwill heard that Brooklyn wanted Karl- Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and four draft picks.
The Wolves turned down the offer. The Minnesota Vikings seem to be committed to building around the two top picks. Rudy Gobert was traded from the Utah Jazz to the team last week.
The presence of Gobert will make life simpler for Towns, who is already one of the best offensive big men in the NBA. As he enters his third season, he appears to be on his way to becoming a household name.
It's over the top for Brooklyn to ask for two star players in their prime plus four draft picks. If Minnesota had accepted that deal, the team wouldn't have had many reliable players to surround him, and it wouldn't have done well in the Western Conference. The Nets made a bold offer.
Brooklyn was surprised by the lack of traction in trade talks regarding the 12-time All- Star. The bidding war isn't really hot as teams around the league are not aggressively pursuing KD beyond the offers they've already sent to the Nets.
