  • The Federal Election Commission warned a political action committee connected to President Donald Trump.

  • The Make America Great Again PAC made a number of errors in its most recent report, according to the FEC.

  • Trump's campaign and committees have been accused of a lot of things.

There are discrepancies in the financial disclosures of a political action committee connected to President Donald Trump.

According to a July 6 letter the Federal Election Commission sent to the committee, Make America Great Again made several mistakes in its first quarter financial report, including discrepancies in its reported cash on hand.

The Make America Great Again PAC has until August 10, 2022, to respond to the FEC's letter and won't get an extension. The FEC said it could lead to an audit or enforcement action if the PAC doesn't respond in a timely manner.

At the end of March, Make America Great Again had $5.5 million in cash. It is one of several political committees within the post-presidency political operation of Trump.

Large political committees that raise and spend a lot of money are more likely to get warning letters like this. Andrew Yang's old presidential campaign committee received one recently.

The 2008 campaign of President Barack Obama was fined $375,000 by the FEC for reporting violations. The campaign of Hillary Clinton and the DNC paid fines earlier this year. The companies of a Canadian billionaire paid fines to the FEC after being accused of making illegal contributions to a pro-Trump superPAC.

A case involving whether Trump's 2020 campaign laundered hundreds of millions of dollars in spending is the latest in a string of questions, concerns, and anomalies that have arisen from the Trump campaign.

Over the past six years, at least 43 cases related to Trump have been referred to the FEC.

The bipartisan FEC, which has civil powers to enforce federal campaign finance laws, failed to act on any of the cases because the three Republican Commissioners did not vote against Trump

There are four votes needed to affirm a decision on the six-commissioner FEC, and 3-3 deadlocks are common in high-profile matters.

According to Insider, one of the three Republican Commissioners at the FEC spoke at a Texas GOP event where he was advertised to attendees as a member of the "Trump Elections Team." Trainor was unaware of his bill.
