Ghislaine was sentenced to two decades in prison after she was convicted of grooming andtrafficking young girls to be abused by sex offenders.
According to documents filed by her legal team in the Southern District of New York, she is appealing both her conviction and her sentence.
Her appeal has been sent to the US Court of Appeals.
Her attorney did not respond to a request for comment from Forbes after her legal team indicated she would appeal the sentence.
An argument for why the sentence and conviction should be overturned was not included in the filling. Some of the victims were above the age of consent in some states, according to her legal team.
Last week, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined $750,000 after being found guilty of sex trafficking, transporting a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity and conspiracy. Four women told the court that she groomed them as teenagers and that she participated in the abuse. She maintained her innocence and said she was manipulated by the man. At her sentencing, she said she was a victim of helping Jeffrey Epstein and blamed her father for her involvement with him. Her legal team wrote that her father was able to exploit and control her.
Ghislaine was given 20 years for sex traffickers.
