I thought I was in a nightmare. She says it was so confusing. The people who were trying to speak were being drowned out. Ruddock said it was grotesque and designed to make him know they were watching him. CRG found a video of her music andblasted it through her neighborhood.

She said she was going to have a panic attack. Ruddock tried to explain the situation to other activists, but many of them didn't know that she was a musician. She doesn't know why she was targeted but she suspects it was because she was taking pictures of the unrest in her neighborhood.

According to three activists we spoke with, CRG played recordings of speeches by Martin Luther King to drown out protests. No formal complaints have been filed against CRG according to the chair of the Minnesota Board of Private detectives and protective agent services. A complaint could lead to an investigation by the agency and revocation of the security license.

A look at the "intel reports"

Ruddock didn't know that CRG was a covert intelligence team for the Minneapolis police department. Emails obtained by MIT Technology Review show that CRG spied on activists and sent reports to the department. A 17-page report titled "Initial Threat Assessment" described the organizers as part of "AntiFA," a term used in far-right discourse to exaggerate the threat posed by left-wing political groups. Ruddock calls the claim that she is one of the leaders of antiFA ridiculous and says she has never been associated with any extremists.

The reports we reviewed are not being published because of the risk of spreading false and potentially defamatory information.

Photographs of Ruddock and other activists are included in some of the reports. Seven Points referred to CRG's cameras in an exchange with the police department. Two days after Smith's death, mugshots of Ruddock and other activists from a mass arrest during a protest were released. Ruddock's charges have been dropped for lack of evidence, and there is a lawsuit against the city.

It exists to document and track the far left. Photographs of almost 7,000 people were published on the site. It's information comes from news reports, social media posts, and submissions. For a report to be approved it must have a reasonable level of proof. Several of the entries on the site were found to be inaccurate. The daughter of New York City's former mayor Bill de Blasio is included on a list of people who will be arrested at a Black Lives Matter protest in New York City. The police report doesn't show that de Blasio participated in rioting.

The website states that a report on AntifaWatch is in no way, shape or form an accusation of one's involvement in Antifa, terrorism, or terroristic groups. Its posts are often filled with bigotry. Anyone can upload an image and the website will return potential matches from its AntifaWatch database.
