Billionaire investor Bill Ackman donated $18,000 to a toddler whose parents were killed in the Highland Park shooting

Bill Ackman, a billionaire investor, donated $18,000 to a fund for the McCarthy family, who lost their parents in the Highland Park shooting.

There was a toddler covered in blood at the shooting. The toddler's grandfather told The Chicago Sun-Times that his dad died shielding him. He and his mother were killed in the shooting.

The family gave permission for the organizers to set up the page for McCarthy. The goal was to raise $500,000 but it has raised more than 2 million dollars.

Ackman is one of the top donors. A representative for Ackman did not give any further information.

Ackman founded and is the CEO of a hedge fund. According to Forbes, he has a net worth of nearly $3 billion.

He condemns mass shootings in the US.
