The former star of Cheer was sentenced to 12 years in prison for sex crimes.

Harris was found guilty of one count of receipt of child sexual abuse material and one count of traveling with the intent to engage in illegal sexual conduct. He'll be under supervision for eight years after he's released from prison.

Sarah Klein said in a statement that Harris's guilt was "firmly established" with the sentencing.

She said that the sentence he received reflected the severity of his crimes.

He said that Harris's actions left him feeling trapped and responsible.

He said that he had no idea what to do as a child.

Harris's attorney did not reply immediately.

Harris was accused of producing child sexual abuse material. A mother found sexually explicit photos on her son's phone. Harris denied the accusations in a statement.

The abuse in the second season of Cheer was described by the boys. Harris sent them pictures and videos of himself masturbating.

More than 10 boys were exploited and violated by Harris.

According to documents, he used his money and popularity from Cheer to offer young people $1,000 to have sex over the internet. He was charged with producing child sexual abuse images in December of 2020.

He became famous after appearing on a show about the cheer team at a college. Harris was a star who appeared in commercials and interviews and was a correspondent for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
