According to a survey by Consumer Reports, more than 25% of Americans wouldn't buy an electric vehicle.

The main barriers to buying an EV are price, range and access. There is a lack of education around EV.

According to the survey, 18% would buy or lease an electric-only vehicle, 57% would consider one, and 28% wouldn't get an electric-only vehicle. The willingness to drive one was related to age, income and education.

According to the survey, a lack of education about tax incentives, environmental impact, and how an EV works is a factor in EV adoption. Half of Americans don't know about incentives for EV owners.

Many of us are unfamiliar with electric vehicles, so we have questions about the transition. Increasing charging options and raising incentives can help drive adoption.

When asked about the top three concerns over buying or leasing an EV, 61% of respondents said they were concerned with charging logistics, and 45% said they would worry about the number of miles the vehicle can go before it needs to be charged.
