If you haven't downloaded The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience yet, you'll need to act fast because it will be removed from the stores on Saturday. Only if you add it to your library before the cutoff will you be able to play and download it.

The Matrix Awakens is a tech demo that will show off the power and potential of the next-gen graphics engine. There is a car chase turret sequence and a city that you can visit.

The main reason to play it is to see the Unreal Engine 5 graphics that can be generated in real time while running on the latest consoles. You can read my colleague Sean Hollister's full write-up of the experience to understand how well the visuals hold up, but here's my review: the Neo and Trinity models had moments of being convincing, until they don't There are some neat tricks in the experience that allow you to peek behind the curtains to see what's happening underneath.

The demo is being removed from stores just a few months after it was released. I was able to add The Matrix Awakens to my game library on accounts that didn't have any consoles linked, which would theoretically allow me to download it in the game store. It's free, so if you're interested in trying it out, it's worth getting it for the PS or XBOX.
