Gobert wants to make KAT's life easier in Minnesota (0:37)

Rudy Gobert told reporters that his main focus was to make the game easier for Karl- Anthony Towns. There is a time and a place for this.

Rudy Gobert knows that Minnesota fans did not like him very much during his first nine NBA seasons. Chris Finch complains about how he sets screens.

The perspectives are likely to change.

Gobert said he was excited that they were on the same side.

It's good reason that Minnesota is so. At a news conference in Minneapolis on Wednesday, the Wolves announced that they had acquired Gobert from the Jazz. It took four players, five first-round picks, and the option of trading another pick to get the French center, but the Wolves feel like they got the better of the deal.

He fits right in with what we already do.

In a league that has become increasingly positionless, where small-ball reigns at times, the Wolves now have two of the league's best big men in the same lineup with three-time defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert playing alongside All-NBA performer Karl- Anthony Towns.

The president of basketball operations said that he doesn't inhibit anything they have currently. He improves it. We have what we have right now. Fit isn't just about talent. He is going to make it better.

After the NBA's moratorium on most offseason player movement and contract signings was lifted on Wednesday, the Utah- Minnesota trade was executed.

The final agreement in the Utah-Minnesota deal was that Gobert would be traded to the Timberwolves for a package of players.

Gobert will be a part of the Jazz for the rest of his life, according to Ryan Smith.

Smith said that Rudy Gobert had a huge impact on the franchise and the state of Utah. Rudy will be remembered as one of the most significant players to wear a Jazz uniform. It's impossible to overstate his love for this community.

Quin Snyder stepped down as the Jazz's coach last month and was replaced by Will Hardy. The Gobert trade was the end of an era. The Jazz have won more regular season games over the last six seasons than any other team in the conference. Utah didn't make the playoffs in any of the six years.

Gobert said that the window for winning isn't always large. That is what happened to us in Utah. The organization felt that way. Over the last few years, we may have passed that time. The team is going to be very competitive. It was better for them to go that route because they had all the assets for me.

It's possible that the Wolves are the opposite. They haven't seen the second round in nearly two decades, and are betting that Towns, Gobert, Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell will be a core to change that.

The goal is to win a title. I came to this place for that. I came here to be part of a team. I came here to help this team get to the finals.
