It has been a few years since an in-person version of BlizzCon was hosted, but it sounds like that is going to change in the near future. The Los Angeles Times reported that Mike Ybarra, the boss of the company, said that they were committed to bringing back the convention in three years.

Ybarra said that they want to return to a live event that allows them to celebrate the community while taking a break from BlizzCon. A new leader of the convention is working on the plan. We are going to bring back the convention in three years.

It is not clear when the event will happen, and the company didn't reply to a request for comment. Due to COVID-19, the 2020 and 2021 iteration of the company's in-person BlizzCon have been canceled. The planned 2022. version of the virtual event was put on hold after allegations about the company's toxic work culture came to light.

Next year, there will be more gaming events, including BlizzCon. The Entertainment Software Association plans to bring E3 back as a physical and digital event in three years. A potential clash of summer gaming conferences will be set up by the return of the Summer Game Fest.
