More than one million people have signed an online petition to remove Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
The petition was created on the website MoveOn.
The removal of Thomas was based on his vote against abortion.
The petition stated that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas would overturn high court rulings that established gay rights and contraceptive rights.
The description mentioned that Thomas's wife encouraged members of the Trump administration to challenge the results of the 2020 election.
The Supreme Court refused to block the release of documents related to the Capitol riot. The justice that dissented was Thomas.
He has shown that he cannot be an impartial justice and that he is more concerned with covering up his wife's attempts to take over the Supreme Court than he is with the health of the court.
The petition stated that he must resign or be impeached.
More than one million people signed the petition to impeach Thomas.
Students at George Washington University created a petition last week in an effort to remove Thomas from his teaching position.
The student-led petition was started after the high court ruled that a woman's right to abortion was valid.
In a school-wide letter, GWU officials said they don't have plans to remove Thomas as an instructor in their law school because he didn't violate the school's policy on academic freedom.
School officials wrote in their letter that they affirm the right of all members of the community to voice their opinions and contribute to the critical discussion.
