The inside story at Meta as it moves beyond Facebook

The new season of Land of the Giants is set to premiere on July 13th. Both for the tech giant and for the billions of people who use its products are at stake in the story of Meta.

Meta is trying to transition away from its complicated legacy as a social media company to a futuristic metaverse vision under the leadership of CEO Mark Zuckerberg. While criticisms from users, regulators, and even its own former employees are at an all time high, this transition is happening. They worry that the company and its products are hurting society, from how global democracy works to the mental health of teenagers. Meta may need to be broken up because they think it's too powerful. This is the first time that his business is under so much scrutiny. Meta is forced to rethink its approach to social media due to the rapid loss of market share to TikTok.

Land of the Giants will feature original reporting on Meta's current challenges and the future it's building. The show will look at critical moments from the start of the company. Current and former executives, as well as critics and leaders outside of the company, will be talked to by the co- hosts.
