According to White House officials, President Joe Biden has read a letter from a woman. The time is 2:1.

The White House said that President Biden spoke with the wife of a basketball player on trial in Russia and assured her that he was working to get her freedom.

The White House received a handwritten letter from a basketball player on Monday and Biden had a conversation with the player's wife. In the letter, she asked Biden not to forget about her and the other Americans who were held in Russia.

The man is on trial in Russia for possession of cannabis oil.

The White House said that the president called Cherelle to assure her that he was working to get Paul and other Americans out of captivity. He read her a draft of the letter the President was going to send to her.

The White House said that Biden offered his support to the family and that he would make sure they received all possible assistance.

The trial in Russia is expected to resume on Thursday. She was charged with possession of cannabis oil after returning from playing for her Russian team.

In Russian criminal cases, less than 1% of defendants are found not guilty.
