two elves watch an object in the sky

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to premiere on Prime Video in the fall. A rocket-like object soars above Middle-earth. elves see it The dwarfs are watching it. Theents see it. The show will premiere on September 2.

You can only watch the trailer on Amazon.com, which is the official site of Prime Day. If you are a Prime Video member you will be able to access the link on July 6 at 3 a.m.

Amazon has an excellent X-Ray feature, so we can tell that Sadoc is played by Lenny Henry, and the next character is High King Gil-Galed. X-Ray doesn't name the two additional characters.

The object, whatever it is, grabs the attention of everyone in Middle-earth. We can only guess what impact it has on this land, since it takes place before the events of the Peter Jackson films.

Next week, July 14, another trailer will be released, which is exciting but also a little odd. At San Diego Comic-Con, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will have a large presence. What will Comic-Con audiences get to see if a new trailer is released a week before the convention? The entire first episode might be possible. Don't let it go to io9 to find out.
