A Georgia district attorney said she will not rule out subpoenaing former President Donald Trump as part of her investigation into whether he interfered in the 2020 election.
The Fulton County District Attorney told NBC News that anything is possible. She said that she is not ruling out a subpoena.
She thinks the grand jury in Atlanta will issue more subpoenas.
Rudy Giuliani and six other attorneys who worked with the Trump campaign were subpoenaed by the grand jury.
Graham's lawyers said he would fight the subpoena because it was about politics. On the heels of the November 2020 election, where President Joe Biden won, prosecutors want to question Graham about calls he had with the Georgia Secretary of State.
When asked about Graham's response, he wasn't interested. She wanted to know what she had to gain from the politics. It's not an accurate estimate. Someone doesn't understand the seriousness of what we're doing
She wouldn't rule out subpoenaing Trump's family. She said that they would have to see where the investigation led them.
People thought we came into this as a game, according to the man. This is not a match. I am doing something very serious. The work is very important. We will make sure that we look at all aspects of the case.
She wouldn't say why she wanted to question Giuliani and Graham, but she did say that election interference is a very important subject.
She said that it was important for the grand jurors to hear from anyone who may have had an impact on the election.
The criminal probe was opened a year ago after it was revealed that Trump called Raffensperger to try to get him to vote against Biden.
In the call, Trump said he wanted to find 11,780 votes.
Four days before the U.S. Congress was going to certify that Biden had won the Electoral College vote, that conversation happened.
