We reported on the return of Limewire back in March. The refurbished Limewire is now a market for them.

Limewire was resurrected by a pair of entrepreneurs from Austria. The launch of the platform in its new and improved state coincides with the announcement of some pretty big artists releasing NFTs on the platform.

A$AP Mob's A$AP TyY and British rapper Aitch are among the others in the lineup. Limewire's announcement just goes to show that the trend isn't slowing down, despite the fact that celebrities are getting involved in the world of cryptocurrencies.

In a nod to the former company's not-so-legal download history, the new marketplace is offering a range of original songs, visual artworks, backstage passes, and other opportunities. Brandy is offering a collaborative flower bouquet NFT with accompanying spoken word, while Barker's NFT is a real drum kit. There are so many possibilities that it's hard to decide.

There will be a release from 7 Aurelius on July 7.

The company is placing a lot of emphasis on its "Originals" collection, which is a small collection of original NFTs. One of these will give you access to invite-only events, token rewards, and early access to NFT drops. There is a waiting list for these NFTs. Limewire's aim is to act as a level of membership to the community.

The company wants to appeal to a wider range of consumers by removing the need for a wallet. Potential buyers will be able to use credit cards. Limewire will handle the NFT gas fees or the fees required to compensate for the computational energy needed to process transactions when it comes to the site. It's been a long time since I've been able to say goodbye.

Any technical hurdles on behalf of users will be handled by Limewire.

It isn't like the Limewire of the 2000s, but it is here for as long as NFTs are around.
