Why is the sky green in bad weather?

The Scientific American states that it is not certain why green skies occur. Water particles in the air can make the sky appear green if there is a storm during a red light period. A gray cloud of a thunderstorm, water particles that bend red light to appear blue and ample red light in the sky can create a storm for a green sky.
