Apple's MacBook Air M2 ships July 15, with pre-orders starting July 8

The new M2 powered MacBook Air will be available for pre-order on July 8th. The 13-inch MacBook Pro that's powered by the tech giant's new M2 chip was the first to be released. The new MacBook Air will be available for pre-order on July 15th and will be shipped to buyers on July 15th.

The new MacBook Air design swaps the model's signature wedge silhouette for a squarer look similar to its Pro tier siblings. It's 20 percent smaller in volume than its predecessors, but it has a bigger display. In addition, it will be available in four different colors. The laptop has a full row of function keys instead of the Touch Bar and MagSafe port.

Users can expect a boost in performance thanks to the new system on a chip that has more memory bandwidth and more graphics cores. The laptop's battery can last up to 15 hours of web surfing on a single charge, according to Apple.
