There is a new benefit for Amazon Prime subscribers in the US. They will be able to redeem a year of free food delivery on orders over $12 from participating restaurants from today. The cost is usually $9.99 a month.
There are hundreds of thousands of restaurants in the US that offer free delivery with the help of GrubHub. After the year is over, the company will charge a fee for continued access. The promotion will be applied from the beginning of the next billing cycle. Prime is canceled automatically.

Just a few years ago, Amazon shut down Amazon Restaurants, its own attempt to compete in the takeout delivery market. The service faced stiff competition from other food delivery services.
Since then, the e-commerce giant has mostly focused on grocery deliveries, but has partnerships with other firms in the takeout delivery market Prime members in the UK were able to get access to Deliveroo Plus as an additional perk last year after it invested in Europe-focused Deliveroo.
"Amazon has redefined convenience with Prime and we're confident this offering will expose many new diners to the value of GrubHub Plus while driving more business to our restaurant partners and drivers." The company, which is owned by Just Eat Takeaway.com, expects the deal to increase the number of people who subscribe to the service.
Today, Amazon is adding more benefits for Prime members. The upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, will be made available to Prime subscribers only for 48 hours. The show can be watched on the page. The trailer ends with a promise that there will be another one on July 14th.
