The man dropped 23 points with 6 blocks in his Summer League debut. There is a time and a place for it.

In his first game in the summer league, the Oklahoma City guard scored 23 points and set an NBA summer league record for blocks and 3-pointers.

In 24 minutes, the No. 2 pick in the draft had seven rebound, four assists, and six blocks as the Oklahoma City thundered to a 98-77 victory over the Utah Jazz. He was the first player in summer league history to record at least five blocks and four 3-pointers.

At the free-throw line, he was 7 of 7 from 2 point range, 4 of 6 from 3 and 5 of 5.

"Shout out to my teammates for setting me up, talking to me, just putting me in position to be successful," said Holmgren, who wouldn't do his postgame interview with ABC unless Giddey stood beside him.

He pointed to Giddey. A double-double with helpers. It was a great night for him and I enjoyed it.

He made three of his four 3-pointers in the first quarter. After sitting out the first six minutes of the second quarter, he came back and dunked to make it 42-22. After missing his first shot, he made six straight.

Giddey said that the way he played was important for the team. Being a high pick, there's a lot of pressure, but he handled it well. I like playing with people like him. He is able to finish at the rim. He has my back on the defensive side. It's fun to play with him. The chemistry is only getting stronger after a single game.

Oklahoma City spoiled Utah's debut with 17 points from the 12th pick in the draft.
