Jacki was identified as a victim by the North Shore Congregation Israel. NSCI said she was a long time congregant andcherished member of its staff.
Jacki was shot and killed at the parade she had been to her entire life, according to her nephew. He said that his aunt was one of the most kind people he had ever met.
He said he was angry and sad that he wouldn't be able to spend more time with her. This can't happen to innocent loving people.
According to the New York Times, Straus was a financial adviser who took the train to work in Chicago every day.
"Only those who have left this world know what awaits, and for me I can only say that if there are bells at Heaven's Gate, they are chiming and cheering for you, for a life well lived, and a soul well served," his niece Cynthia Straus wrote on Facebook No one should die like this.
