Washington D.C.'s RFK Stadium Catches Fire; Former Home of Nationals, Commanders

There was a fire at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.

A fire was confirmed by the D.C. Fire Department.

Football, baseball and soccer have all been played at the sports facility.

The Washington Commanders relocated to FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland in 1996. The Washington Nationals and the Washington Senators play baseball in the stadium.

The Nationals and the Senators both moved to new ballparks in 2008.

The D.C. United played at RFK Stadium for 21 years before moving to a new stadium.

World Cup and Olympic soccer matches, two MLB All-Star games and several college football bowl games were held at the venue.

The historic venue in D.C. is going to be demolished next year.
