Kennedy Chandler, a guard from the Memphis Grizzles, has agreed to a four-year, $7.1 million rookies contract.
Ryan Davis told Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. The most guaranteed money for an American second-round draft pick is going to be given to the ex-Tennessee player.
He was picked 38th in the draft. He helped the Vols to a 27-8 record and a 3rd seed in the NCAA tournament. The guard averaged 13 points, 4.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
He could be a huge steal for Memphis, as he strengthened the guard position.
The four players in the class are from Memphis. A team that finished second in the Western Conference and lost to the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the playoffs has added three more players.
Adding four draft picks to the team next season will help keep the theme of Memphis faring so well last year. Adding a potential second-round steal adds to that idea.
