The company is starting to feel the pinch after several quarters of growth. Between April and June, the company only produced 258,580 electric vehicles and delivered 257,695 cars.
In the first three months of the year, it was able to build and deliver over 300,000 electric vehicles. It claims to have produced more cars in June than any other month.
A detailed breakdown of this quarter's results is scheduled for July 20 and should shed light on CEO Musk's claims that the company's new factories in Berlin and Texas are costing it billions.
The 18 percent decline was due to ongoing supply chain challenges and factory shutdowns beyond our control. Musk did not quibble or take legal action when Chinese authorities imposed public health controls that shut down the factory of his company.
