We're not expecting to see the solar trailer hitting store shelves anytime soon, but we can see it in the new images.

The trailer has a satellite dish in the back. If it ever went into production, it would be the ultimate off- grid accessory for your car.

The trailer for the car company's car was on display this week. The demo is fun, but probably less of a finished product than an effort to draw attention to the expo.

Tesla is at the "IdeenExpo" in Hannover.

They brought a solar range extender trailer with Starlink.

And a Model Y with the 4680 structural battery pack.

Boosting Range

It's not the first time thatTesla has said it's looking to increase range using solar panels. The Cybertruck will feature solar power panels on its back that will generate 15 miles per day, according to a promise made by Musk back in 2019.

The company submitted patent applications for the idea of a solar add-on to the US Patent and Trademark Office last year.

Trickle Charge

It's possible that 300 watt solar panels could give us 50 miles of additional range a day.

The company hasn't released any information. At the exposition, it showed off a Model Y SUV with the company's structural batteries, a significant part of the company's plans to increase the range and capacity of its future vehicles, regardless of how they're charged.

The trailer for the solar range extender was unveiled byTesla.
