In her first Grand Slam semifinal, Maria will not be denied as she beats Jule. There is a time and a place for it.

The oldest woman at this year's Wimbledon is in the semifinals.

The German who returned to the tour less than a year ago after the birth of her second daughter advanced to the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the first time. On Tuesday, she beat another German, Jule, on No. 1 court.

Maria told the court that she gave birth one year ago. It's insane.

Maria is making her 10th appearance at the All England Club and is only the sixth woman in the Open era to reach the Wimbledon semifinals. In 2015, she reached the third round. She didn't make it that far at the other tournaments.

This year has not been easy.

As of March, Maria was outside the top 250 in the world. She lost in the first round at the US Open after returning from maternity leave.

The grass courts of Wimbledon were different.

In her run to the quarterfinals, Maria beat three players in a row, including the 12th-seeded Jelena Ostapenko.

She'll face either Ons or Marie.

It's part of our family. Maria said that she loved her children. It would be great if we could play Ons. I'm happy that I'm going to the semifinals.
