The ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6 Pro are the newest additions to the Republic of Gamers phone line. The upgraded displays on the gaming phones look impressive.
Both models have up to 512 gigabytes of storage. Compared to the last model, the refresh rates and touch-sampling rates are both significant improvements. The batteries are the same as previous models and there is an upgrade to the camera setup. The Phone 6 will cost 999 and the 6 Pro will cost 1,299 in the UK and Europe, but will be available in the US, India and elsewhere later.
The 6 Pro is only in white, while the phone 6 is black and white. The 6 Pro has a second screen on the back which is not very practical, but the other model has a single screen. The regular Phone 6 model will suffice for most people.
The company has been refining the design of the phone over the last few models so it doesn't scream "gamer phone!" This is a phone that is used for gaming. The phrase "we developed a unique 360-degreeCPU cooling technology" was definitely uttered during the product's announcement stream. The vapor chamber is bigger. The Aeroactive Cooler accessory was updated to include a giant clip-on fan that can be used as a controller.
The phone has as impressive a display as ever. The question is always to what end. If you want to play the most complicated games, you don't need a lot of ram. The company has a spotty history of timely software updates and is only promising two years of security updates for these devices. Most phone things can be done with a device that costs less. As cloud gaming brings more high-powered games to your phone, you don't need as much power to make them work. The ROG Phone 6 isn't a very practical device.
